In the Beginning
After discovering how hard it was to find
information about local Milton businesses on the internet, we
decided to create a Milton-specific search engine to assist
in connecting the community. We began planning and building
the site in the summer of 2006, and it quickly began to grow
from a simple search site into a full-scale, feature-loaded homepage for the Town of Milton, Ontario.
A place for anyone living in Milton to begin their daily journey into cyberspace,
with instant access to Milton news and weather as well as a
business directory and interactive features to connect the community
and make the hectic lives of Miltonians a little bit easier.

The strength of MiltonSearch.com lies
in the fact that it was created by Miltonians
for Miltonians. We wanted to create
just the kind of site our growing town needed, so we re-thought our
original approach and decided to take more time than originally
planned to put together a functional, visually appealing website
with character that would do our town justice - a website that
Milton could be proud of.
It's all about the journey
The one-and-a-half years spent (and countless buckets of coffee consumed) constructing
this site has been truly rewarding. We've learned so much more
than we thought we knew about Milton during this process, which
has allowed us to really appreciate how special our town really
is. Milton has the unique combination of feeling like a small
town with it's friendly, active downtown core, local business community and close proximity
to the Halton Hills countryside including the Niagara Escarpment, as well as a
big city with all of the excitement and amenities available
being part of the GTA right on Toronto's doorstep. Realizing how lucky
we are to live in Milton helped to fuel our desire to make this
site the #1 online resource for Miltonians.
